Halle an der Saale is located in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. The city has a population of about 235,000. The city of Halle is the largest city in Saxony-Anhalt in terms of population. Halle is divided into five boroughs and 35 districts. The city is located at the northwestern edge of the Leipzig Basin. The Saale flows directly through the city, which is the reason why it is called Halle an der Saale.

Many sights can be found in the city. These include Giebichenstein and Moritzburg castles, historical churches and the water tower.

With regard to the economy, Halle an der Saale (a member of the European Metropolitan Region of Central Germany) is home to many companies focusing on renewable energies, mobility, engineering, biotechnology and media. Companies from the service sector, food industry, logistics and IT are also located in Halle. The city offers a wide range of cultural amenities, including the theatre, the opera house and the Kulturinsel cultural complex. Halle has also gained national prominence as the "Cultural Capital of Saxony-Anhalt", as the city calls itself.

There are many schools and educational institutions throughout the city. In addition to daycare centres and primary schools, the district is home to secondary schools such as grammar schools. The Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg is also located directly in the area.

 

Micro-location

Graseweg 5 and Große Steinstraße 79/80 are centrally located in the old town of Halle. The connection to the public transport system is within walking distance with the suburban railway and bus stop. The university is only 200 metres away, so short distances are guaranteed. The town hall, the market square and the green city park can be reached on foot in less than ten minutes, or by bicycle in about five minutes.

Outlets catering for everyday needs in the city centre such as drugstores, shopping facilities or pharmacies can be reached on foot in a maximum of ten minutes.

Geisstraße 25 is located in the northern inner city area of Halle. The location is very central and offers excellent connections with short distances to shopping facilities (three to five minutes), a suburban railway stop (50 metres away) and only about one kilometre to the old town. The Saale River is less than 700 metres away.

Geschwister-Scholl-Straße 5 is located in the southern part of the district of Trotha.

Situated near the Nordbad outdoor pool, all outlets catering for everyday needs are less than 1.5 kilometres away. The distance to the old town is about three kilometres, and it can be easily reached by bicycle in 15 minutes.
